Donations sought for volunteers searching the Shannon
Search has been ongoing in Carrick-on-Shannon since December 26, 2022
A fundraising page has been set up to help with costs for the volunteering rescue services searching for a body around Carrick-on-Shannon since December 26, 2022.
The search is ongoing for a body of a 25-year-old man that entered the water from the main Carrick-on-Shannon bridge just before midnight on 25th December, 2022.
The Go Fund Me page has been set up on behalf of the family of the missing man to help cover the cost being incurred by the volunteers from all over Ireland who have been helping in the search and continue to help.
K9 Search and Rescue NI Search and Rescue Dogs and Technicians joined Dublin-Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team, including their Search Dogs, Specialist Search Dogs, UK Training for excellence & Operations along with multiple other Search and Rescue Teams, including divers this week.
These volunteers and rescue clubs pay all their travel, accommodation and expenses out of their funds. Most of these groups are dependent on donations from the general public. Money raised on this page will go to help cover these costs and anything left over will be donated directly to the services after the search has concluded.
The page is not far off raising its goal of €15,000. To donate visit here.
