Sunday 8th

Follow the Evidence

Taking place at Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway, outside Leitrim Village, between 8 PM and 9:30 PM.

In an event for true crime lovers, Leitrim crime writer and journalist Paul Williams will join John Sweetman, a former Garda Technical Bureau expert and host of the Lines of Enquiry podcast.

The pair will have an in-depth conversation, hosted by science communicator Barry Fitzgerald, about past investigations and crimes in Ireland. They will also look at how Irish weather affects investigations.

Drawing on past Irish cases, the conversation will explore how evidence is found, collected and interpreted, as well as the challenges investigators can face when working in Ireland's climate.

Tuesday 10th

Digging a Little Deeper

Hosted at the Organic Centre, Digging a Little Deeper will give attendees a chance to take a closer look, discover what is happening in their gardens and learn which plants can survive there.

The event will take place on Tuesday, November 10th, between 11 AM and 1 PM.

Changing Tides

The Island Theatre in Ballinamore will host an open conversation with Dr Mary Ryan on hormones, perimenopause, menopause and understanding your body through life's changes.

The talk focuses on women's bodies, how they change throughout their lives, and what can be done to look after yourself through these stages.

Mary will be interviewed by local pharmacist Maj Cunningham, who will answer the questions that women often want to ask but don't always get the opportunity to.

What changes should we expect as we get older? What are the early signs of perimenopause? How do you know if symptoms could be hormonal? What actually happens during menopause? What can we do to look after our physical and emotional wellbeing as our hormones change? And when is it worth speaking to your GP or another healthcare professional?

The event will be a relaxed and open conversation taking place between 8 PM and 9 PM on Tuesday, November 10th.

Wednesday 11th

Water in Colour

Boyle Library in Roscommon will host a free watercolour painting workshop with Leitrim School of Art between 10 AM and 12 PM.

Participants will be invited to explore water through art in this workshop, which is open to people of all abilities.

Flowing Ceramics (Adults)

Leitrim School of Art in Ballinamore will host a relaxed, hands-on ceramics workshop where creativity meets the science of water, clay and glaze, between 11 AM and 1 PM.

No previous pottery experience is needed, and all materials will be provided.

The event is an opportunity for adults to enjoy a creative experience while learning about the scientific process of pottery-making.

Fuel, Feel, Flourish

A useful and honest talk for teenage girls featuring experts in sports nutrition, skin and performance, helping them learn how to best fuel themselves during their teenage years.

The teenage years are a time of immense change in young people's bodies, coupled with pressure from school, sport and everything else.

Fuel, Feel, Flourish aims to be an informative and accessible event created especially for teenage girls, bringing together an incredible panel for real, practical conversations about food, skin, sport, confidence and understanding your body.

Teenage girls will have an event of their own with Fuel, Feel, Flourish. The event features sports nutrition expert Dr Sharon Madigan, sports psychologist Jo-Anne Browne, GP Dr Tara Treacy and All-Ireland-winning Leitrim footballer Charlene Tyrrell.

While several events focus on health, wellbeing and psychology, the festival also offers a wide range of hands-on experiences for children and families.

The event will take place at the Fuel, Feel, Flourish between 8 PM and 9 PM on November 12th.

Friday 13th

Faithful Under Fire – The Science of Mental Strength

What happens when the pressure is on? How do you pick yourself back up after a setback? And can years spent competing on a football pitch prepare you for the mind games of The Traitors?

Join former Leitrim footballer and recent Traitors Ireland contestant Donal Casey, who will appear alongside sports psychologist Shane Carrington and host Barry Fitzgerald.

Casey, whose promising football career was cut short last year following a serious injury, will talk about resilience, setbacks and pressure on the football pitch before taking audiences inside the very different psychological battle he experienced in The Traitors castle.

The event will explore sports psychology and mental resilience at the Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo on Friday, November 13th, between 7:30 PM and 9 PM.

Saturday 14th

All Aboard the Moon River!

The Carrick-on-Shannon cruise is giving locals the chance to go on an adventure along the Shannon, where they can become scientists for the day and learn about life in the river.
