U20 Championship: MacCumhaills got their U20 Championship campaign off to the perfect start with a superb 6-18 to 1-9 victory over St. Patrick’s, Dromahair, in Kiltubrid last Tuesday week. It was an excellent all-round team performance, with the lads producing some outstanding football to secure a convincing opening-round win.
Whirlwind in Drumcong: There was a fantastic turnout for the visit of snooker legend Jimmy White to O’Ceallaigh’s Lakeside Tavern, where he took on a selection of talented pool players from around the county and beyond. It was a wonderful occasion for those lucky enough to play the champion and for the large crowd who came along to enjoy a memorable evening.
MacCumhaills U15: MacCumhaills Division 1 U15s and Naomh Eoin shared the spoils last Monday evening after an entertaining contest that ended all square. MacCumhaills produced an excellent first-half display to build a commanding 12-point lead at the break. However, Naomh Eoin emerged a transformed side after half-time, mounting an impressive comeback to gradually wipe out the deficit and level matters by the final whistle. In the end, a draw was a fair result, with both sides deserving a point after each enjoyed a half of dominance. The Division 3 side also enjoyed success last Thursday against Belhavel Gaels. In another exciting encounter, MacCumhaills needed a dramatic last-minute goal to seal a one-point victory. Well done to both teams on an excellent week’s football. MacCumhaills Division 1 are back in action on Monday evening when they travel to take on St. Mary’s. Throw-in is at 7.00pm. Best of luck to the players and management.
