Leitrim has lowest Median house prices in Ireland
CSO data shows Leitrim's median house price at €180,000; national median at €360,000; first-time buyers at 1,195 in February.
Leitrim has the lowest median house prices in the country, according to Central Statistics Office (CSO) data published this week.
The median price of a house in Leitrim rose to €185,000 in the 12 months preceding February of this year. Nationally, house prices increased by 8% during the same period, with the average median price of a house in Ireland now sitting at €360,000.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown had the highest median house price in the country at €670,000.
The data also showed that 1,195 first-time buyers purchased homes in February of this year.
The North-West remains one of the most affordable areas to live in the country, with the median house prices in Roscommon, Sligo, and Donegal being below the national average at €188,500, €245,000, and €190,000, respectively.
The continuing rise in prices is a result of low supply and high demand in the market.
