Leitrim sewerage schemes could be extended out of towns
The Council is considering extending two sewerage schemes out of Ballinamore, one to Aughoo on the R204 and the other to Kilrush on the R199.
These two proposed Sewerage Schemes are currently being reviewed by Leitrim County Council along with other Group Sewerage Schemes for consideration for inclusion in the new Multi-Annual Rural Water Programme 2022-2024.
The framework for the new programme has not yet been released by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, but is expected in the next few months.
An Expert Panel in the department will review each submission and make a determination on the approval of schemes.
Cllr Ellis welcomed the news saying he hopes it brings a positive outcome.
