Leitrim town to see disco bar converted into apartments
Permission has been granted for Pat Joe’s pub in Ballinamore to be converted into apartments and a townhouse, along with new access, bin storage, and landscaping.
Leitrim County Council has approved conditional planning permission for the conversion of the former pub on Main Street, Ballinamore, into residential accommodation.
The approved plans include converting the ground-floor bar and toilet area into a two-bedroom apartment. Part of the former disco bar on the ground floor, along with vacant space on the first floor, will be turned into two additional apartments, each with its own entrance. The remaining ground-floor toilets and a disused office or store on the first floor will be redeveloped into a two-bedroom townhouse.
As part of the development, alterations will be made to the building’s exterior, and the existing yard will be upgraded to include bin storage, pedestrian access, landscaping, and other associated site improvements.
The permission is subject to seven conditions set by the council.
In May of last year, owners Francis and Ita Flynn were also granted permission to convert the then-bar into a disco bar.
