Mohill physio clients must travel to Carrick-on-Shannon and Ballinamore

Councillors in the Carrick-on-Shannon municipal district were advised the HSE are currently working on renewing physio services in Mohill but in the meantime, clients must go to Carrick-on-Shannon and Ballinamore for treatment.
They were told that the physiotherapist who had been in place, recently retired, and that until the post can be filled a contingency plan has been put in place that clients from the Mohill area who require physiotherapy services are currently being offered assessment treatment in the primary and mental health care centre in Carrick-on-Shannon or the primary health care centre in Ballinamore, whichever location is closer to the client.
The response continued that the room at the Leitrim Association of People with Disabilities in Mohill is being retained until a new post holder commences.
The response, which was from Mandy Doyle, Head Of Service, Primary Care Community Healthcare Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo, continued that "priority referrals to the women's health service in Leitrim will be assessed and treated in Carrick-on-Shannon each week until Christmas as there are over 30 people on the waiting list".
