New to Leitrim? Find your creative crew for 2023
Meet up on January 7
Have you recently moved to the area and found it difficult to connect with other artists? Would you be interested in coming along to an organised meet-up for artists, musicians, performers, writers – in fact anyone interested in meeting other practitioners?
The Dock has scheduled a series of such gatherings, with the first one taking place on Saturday, January 7 from 11am.
This informal meet-and-greet event will be facilitated by The Dock's artist-in-residence, Fiona Reilly. This event is free but booking is required.
Fiona Reilly is a multidisciplinary artist based in Leitrim. She graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2014 with Masters Degree in Social Practice and the Creative Environment. She also holds a BA Fine Art from The National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
Fiona has exhibited throughout Ireland and abroad and is the recipient of numerous awards, most recently the Arts Council of Ireland Next Generation Art Award 2016.
Her practice straddles the fields of Fine Art and Socially Engaged Practice, including an ongoing investigation of their relationship with each other.
She works using a combination of performative and event-based actions and the production of objects.
Site, context, and circumstance are of fundamental importance and works often emerge in response to personal and social situations.
