Patience needed on Kilnagross road with construction works
Leitrim County Council informed Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District councillors that “a lot of construction activity” is expected on the L3410 from Gowel to Kilnagross from now until Christmas due to Irish Water works.
Council District Engineer, Darragh O’Boyle said “patience will be needed” but there will be a full carriageway restoration on the road next year. Cllr Paddy Farrell had initially asked for roadworks to be carried out on this stretch due to the poor state of the road and a lot of complaints from motorists. Mr O’Boyle informed him that the local authority will be seeking money from Irish Water for the road. He said they had sought a licence to open the road for works on the water line.
