Shane Mannion, Currowmoneen, Tuam, Co Galway was convicted, fined €250 and disqualified from driving for one year for drug driving at Cornastalk, Manorhamilton on August 17, 2020.

Mr Mannion pleaded guilty to the offence and had a number of certificates in court to show that he had no drugs in his system. Mr Anderson said the probation report was favourable and his client has no previous disqualifications. He also said his client is involved in the local GAA club. Judge Sandra Murphy noted the Probation Report did not mention the conviction in Tuam District Court in July 2021 for careless driving. She also said the Probation Act was applied for possession of drugs in 2019.

She ruled as above and postponed the driving disqualification to January 2023 to allow Mr Mannion to get accommodation closer to his work.
