Girl, 12, dies after collision with bus in North Ayrshire
She was pronounced dead at the scene in Kilwinning by emergency services.
A 12-year-old girl died after she was hit by a bus in North Ayrshire.
The crash took place at around 1.10pm on Tuesday on Lauchlan Way, Kilwinning.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene and her family was made aware.
Police continue to establish the full circumstances of the crash and the road has since reopened.
Sergeant Stewart Taylor, of Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the girl who died at what is an extremely difficult time for them.
“We would ask that anyone with any information contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 1484 of Tuesday, 3 November, 2026.”
