Burning paper stuffed in Carlow home's letterbox sparks Garda investigation

Carlow Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred in Carlow Town where a home owner was awoken by fire alarms to find burning papers in their letterbox.
The incident occurred on Castle Street, in Carlow Town in the early hours of Sunday the 12th of January 2025.
The home owner was awoken by the fire alarm in an apartment block on at 2:15 am to find papers on fire stuffed into their letter box.
Fortunately the home owner managed to use the fire extinguisher to extinguish the papers and make the area safe.
Luckily for the home owner the only damage was to the carpet inside the door.
Gardaí at Carlow Garda Station are seeking the public's assistance. If any person was seen acting suspiciously around the area, or if there are any similar incidents on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Severe injury or damages could have been caused.
