Carlow community invited to a free world suicide prevention day event

‘Circle of connection’ is a community event taking place at Duckett’s Grove on Thursday, September 10 to mark World Suicide Prevention Day
Free community event is set to take place in Carlow this week to mark World Suicide Prevention Day, offering a space for people to come together for remembrance, connection and reflection.
Carlow Mental Health Association, in partnership with Soul Holistics, will host ‘Circle of Connection,’ at Duckett’s Grove on Thursday, September 10, at 7pm.
The event aims to create a gentle and supportive space for those attending, while also helping to raise awareness around mental health and suicide, helping break the stigma that can surround conversations on the issue of suicide.
The evening will include intention setting, a nurturing sound healing experience and time for private reflection.
Information on local mental health supports will also be available, before the event concludes with a moment of silence.
Organisers say the gathering is centred around remembering, connecting and healing, providing an opportunity for members of the community to pause, reflect and connect with others.
Those attending are asked to bring a yoga mat or blanket to sit on the grass.
Circle of Connection takes place at Duckett’s Grove, Carlow, R93 RF80, on Thursday, September 10, at 7pm.
The event is free to attend, you can sign up here.
Organisers have also highlighted that the gathering is a peer support event and is not a counselling or therapy session.
