Carlow SPCA shocked after rescuing what they thought was two abandoned kittens

A concerned member of the public reported finding two tiny “kittens” alone and cold in a field beside a housing estate
NSPCA Inspector Fiona Conlon recently received a call from Carlow SCPCA recently after a concerned member of the public reported finding two tiny “kittens” alone and cold in a field beside a housing estate.
Once it became clear they had been abandoned and there was no sight of any mother around, they were brought to Carlow SPCA.
Staff member Jane quickly realised these weren’t kittens at all, but two very young fox cubs, according to NSPCA.
She immediately got in touch, and together with Inspector Conlon they ensured the cubs were safely warmed before being transported to Kildare wildlife rescue.

"Without hesitation, they stepped in to help, placing the cubs in an incubator to stabilise them and prepare them for feeding. They are always there to help and do amazing work!" NSPCA said.
"We’re delighted to share that the cubs are now doing well and were the first two orphaned
fox cubs the rescue has taken in this season.
"This is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when animal charities work together for the welfare of all animals. Thank you to everyone involved," NSPCA said.
