Monaco Developments Tramore Ltd. made the application to Carlow County Council

A planning application has been made for a three-storey commercial building with office space, a cafe, and accommodation in Carlow.

Monaco Developments Tramore Ltd. made the application to Carlow County Council on May 12th, 2026.

It has requested permission to construct a three-storey commercial/office building on Green Lane.

Should planning be granted, there will be two retail or cafe/restaurant units on the ground floor.

Offices and ancillary accommodation would be dispersed across the three floors, with the building being constructed on the site of the existing car park.

The development would be accessed by vehicle via Shamrock Plaza and includes 12 car parking spaces and 60 covered bike parking spaces.

The building would feature a rooftop plant enclosure and solar panels.

Planning has been sought for bin storage space, a services compound, signage, and all other associated site and development works.

Those who wish to oppose the development must do so by June 15th 2026, with a decision on the development due by July 6th.

The development site has been zoned as part of the Carlow County Development 2022-2028 and the Carlow/Graguecullen Joint Urban Local Area Plan 2024-2030.
