Volunteers needed to help Amber Refuge at their 25 year anniversary celebration

Volunteers in Carlow are needed for a special celebration to mark 25 years of Amber Refuge
Amber Refuge is celebrating 25 years of providing refuge to women and children in Carlow and Kilkenny this November.
To mark this occasion, Amber are organising a vigil in The Exchange in Carlow on the 3rd December.
Volunteers are needed to weave approximately 2000 silver stars to represent the number of women and children who have used the refuge service in the past 25 years.
As 25 is the silver anniversary, Amber Refuge are hoping to include some silver stars from the One Million Stars Ireland Project to recognise the volunteers who have contributed to the project’s vital work of raising awareness of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence and supported our movement to end gender-based violence.
Amber’s One Million Stars Ireland project is an award winning, inclusive community arts project connecting communities across Ireland in solidarity against domestic, sexual and gender-based violence (DSGBV).
Each eight-point star woven represents light, hope and solidarity against domestic, sexual and gender-based violence.
The volunteer role is remote or in the Carlow Volunteer Centre Office (Monday Craft Morning).
