New ATMs are set to be installed in every Bank of Ireland branch across the island, including the branches here in Kilkenny at Parliament Street in the city centre and in Castlecomer.

The customer areas in 18 branches including Castlecomer will also be refurbished as part of a €60 million package of investment.

Further branches will be refurbished in 2025 and these will be announced in the future.

The new ATMs will have a greater cash processing capacity and will slash energy use by more than half.

The ATMs can be used for both withdrawals and lodgements and the majority will ‘recycle’ cash (i.e. cash deposited can be used for withdrawals).

This maximises ATM availability, supporting customers with better access to cash when they need it. The investment also covers five years of servicing and maintenance.

In total, Bank of Ireland has 182 branches across the island of Ireland, 169 in the Republic of Ireland and 13 in Northern Ireland.
