BREAKING: Huge transfer boost for first time candidate after elimination of Kilkenny TD

Social Democrats candidate for Carlow-Kilkenny, Patricia Stephenson, has received a huge sum of 1,137 transfers from eliminated Green Party candidate Malcolm Noonan after count nine.

This is more than double the number of transfers received by the second-greatest beneficiary of Noonan's exclusion - David Fitzgerald of Fine Gael (+547 votes).

This puts first-time candidate Stephenson into seventh position overall in the Carlow-Kilkenny constituency.

She is the only remaining candidate in Carlow-Kilkenny that is not affiliated with the three big parties of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael or Sinn Féin.
