Breaking- Peter 'Chap Cleere steps down as Kilkenny Camogie Manager

'Chap has opted to resign after only one year in charge

Kilkenny are on the hunt for a new senior camogie manager after Peter 'Chap Cleere announced his resignation this afternoon.

The Blacks and Whites man took over from Brian Dowling last year and while the Cats did scoop Leinster success, their All-Ireland campaign came to an end at the hands of Dublin.

Away from the camogie field, Cleere is also the Chairman of the Callan/Thomastown MDC so he will be kept busy after he decided not to seek a second year in charge of Kilkenny.

In a joint statement with Kilkenny Camogie, he said:

“I’d like to express a massive thanks to John (O Neill), Michael (Farrell), PJ (Ryan) and all of my backroom team as well as county chairperson Theresa Aylward, secretary Theresa Hunston and Treasurer Eoghan Cooney, for their unwavering support during the last year.
