Closing date announced for Carnegie Library in Kilkenny

The news comes as the new library prepares to open in Kilkenny City
Kilkenny County Council have announced that Carnegie Library in Kilkenny City will close to the public on Saturday (April 6) at 1.30pm.
The closure is to facilitate the move to the new Mayfair Library on Parliament Street.
Kilkenny County Council Library Service added that they plan to open the new library at the end of April.
Library users are asked, before the closure, to renew their cards, renew their books and stock up on extra books.
Regular services are available at all other Kilkenny libraries.
The existing Carnegie Library is a very significant building for Kilkenny City and Kilkenny County Council plan to improve and protect it.
The library was officially opened to the public back on November 3, 1910.
