Kilkenny won their 36th All-Ireland and 11th under Brian Cody in 2015, beating Galway 1-22 to 1-18 in Croke Park.
It was Liam MacCarthy's fourth trip home in five years, a journey unfortunately he has failed to make since.
The Cats trailed 0-14 to 1-8 at half-time but after hitting the front in the 47th minute never looked back.
