St Kieran's College 1-19 Ardscoil Ris, Limerick 0-14

Main Man

Rory Glynn (St Kieran’s College)

In an attacking sense, the Kieran’s victory was firmly built on the displays of Rory Glynn and Sean Hunt. Both men scored at will and had the Ardscoil rearguard at sixes and sevens. Both players put in fantastic displays but Glynn in particular had a real memorable day and his pace really ignited the Kieran’s forward line. He scored four points from play but also played a hand in setting up a number of scores. The Clara star was man of the match in last year’s All-Ireland Final and with his injury issues behind him, he will be a massive asset to Kieran’s the next day out against St Raphael’s.

Highlight

The result may say otherwise but Ardscoil Rís were a well rated side coming into this crunch clash but they never got going. All the credit here must go to Kieran’s as they shut down the Limerick school at every opportunity.

Lowlight

There were next to no negatives from a Kieran’s point of view as they dealt with Ardscoil Rís in a very professional manner.

Turning Point

In a tight beginning to the game, it was Sean Hunt’s goal that gave Kieran’s an advantage that they wouldn’t surrender at any stage.

Crowd Watch

Kieran’s heavily outnumbered their Limerick opponents when it came to students attending the game.

What’s Next

St Kieran’s will now play St Raphael’s, Loughrea in the All-Ireland decider in Croke Park on Saturday March, 16 at 1pm.
