Get ready for a magical holiday experience with Barnstorm Theatre Company in Kilkenny
An unforgettable Christmas cabaret-style show
Get ready for a magical holiday experience as Barnstorm Theatre Company and Barn Owl Players come together for an unforgettable Christmas cabaret-style show in Kilkenny!
This is their first festive collaboration, and the excitement is buzzing as they prepare to share their delightful seasonal offerings in the charming Barn Studio on John's Quay.
Mark your calendars for four enchanting nights starting November 27, featuring a vibrant lineup that blends theatre, music, and dramatic readings—there’s something for everyone!
Join local talents Mags Whitely and Sean Hackett as they bring Oscar Wilde to life with an excerpt from The Importance of Being Earnest.
Prepare to be captivated by Jim Carroll’s stirring recitation of Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales and enjoy a good laugh with John Whitely’s amusing piece, When a Pint is Poured.
Barnstorm and Barn Owls prepare to welcome newcomers to the line-up featuring Kilkenny favorites like singers Sé Nicholson and Ciaran O'Neill, musician Carlos Mateus, and talented actors Aran Murphy, Laoise Brownlea, and Owen Finnegan.
Laoise will also showcase her creative flair with a series of unique vignettes, performing alongside Barbara Propocpio and Barnstorm’s own Jo Hennessy.
But that’s not all!
Eoin Nangle Ryan, a familiar face in the Kilkenny acting community, has penned an original monologue titled The Christmas Decoration.
This witty tale explores a wife's exasperation over her husband's quirky obsession with giant Christmas ornaments. Will it be a flight of fancy or a window into the Ryan household as the piece is performed by Eoin’s real-life wife and fellow actor, Nicola Ryan. Plus, Eoin will share the heartwarming classic, Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.
Mags Whitely, one of the show's producers, couldn't be more thrilled to kick off Cabaret Nights at The Studio.
“Barn Owl Players has a rich history of hosting cabaret nights, especially during the festive season. This is our first in several years, and we’re absolutely delighted to partner with Barnstorm in the historic Home Rule Club Studio.
“We’ll also be welcoming fresh faces to our stage! We can’t wait to bring some Christmas joy to Kilkenny audiences!”
