Green light for new housing development on outskirts of Kilkenny City
Permission granted for residential development on the Sion Road in Kilkenny
Conditional planning permission has been granted to Oakmane Limited for a new residential development of 39 new dwellings at a site on the Sion Road on the outskirts of Kilkenny City.
The application sought permission for the demolition of existing buildings plus partial demolition and conversion of another building to a residents communal building.
Permission was also sought for alterations to an existing site entrance, plus the provision of a new site entrance to Sion Road.
Also sought was the provision of public open space, landscaping and boundary treatments as well as new planting, water and utility services and connections and lighting.
Additionally, the development is to include all the necessary enabling and ancillary development works above and below ground level on former Sion Hermitage lands.
There remains a possibility that this decision could be appealed to An Coimisiún Pleanála.
