Progress on the Ferrybank to Curraghmore section of the South-East Greenway in County Kilkenny

Over the past few weeks there was a big push to carry out pavement surfacing works on the Ferrybank to Curraghmore section of the South-East Greenway in South Kilkenny.

The works were prioritised in advance of the winter months, with c 4.95km overlaid with a bound material.

Fencing works along the greenway continues and the installation of the timber screen fencing along Lot 2 has also commenced.

The installation of the safety fence in the permanent greenway car park at Ballyverneen, Glenmore, is expected this month along with the completion of the public lighting.

Once both of these work items are completed a road safety audit will be undertaken prior to the full opening of the 39 bay car park.

The programme remains on track for the works contract to be completed by the end of the year, thereafter, this section of greenway will be subject to a safety audit and minor finishing out works.

This will facilitate the opening of same to the public in Q1, 2025.
