HGV driver in Kilkenny stopped after 'extremely dangerous' activity

Kilkenny Roads Policing Unity intercepted a HGV yesterday (Monday) after witnessing the driver on their phone.

"Kilkenny RPU stopped a HGV with the driver texting," said a garda spokesperson, who added that it is 'extremely dangerous driving any vehicle while distracted'.

The HGV driver received a €120 fine and 3 penalty points are to follow.

The message from local gardaí to road users is 'put the mobile away'.
