'I couldn't get it finished quick enough' - Kilkenny player focused on Croke Park clash after camogie break

The countdown is on to Kilkenny’s Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Camogie Quarter-Final on Saturday
Kilkenny corner-back Rachel Phelan has shown experience beyond her years this season.
The John Locke player has seamlessly transitioned from the All-Ireland-winning minor team of 2025 to put herself firmly in contention for starting places.
Now, with an All-Ireland quarter-final against Waterford down for decision in Croke Park on Saturday, the Leaving Cert student is thrilled to have put away the books and has returned to camogie after a short break.
“It's been a good experience. I'm delighted to be back now after doing the Leaving Cert. I couldn't get it finished quick enough to be back in with all the girls,” Phelan said after the match.
“It's such a good buzz and all the older girls are so welcoming, it's just so nice to be playing with them,” she revealed.
“It’s a great buzz now building up to the All-Ireland quarter-final on Saturday or Sunday up in Croke Park. It’s train hard now and hopefully keep the winning streak going for the weekend,” the Cats defender remarked, dreaming of the prospect of playing at GAA HQ.
