Kilkenny employee given humbling award as colleagues show their affection
Congratulations to Aoife Dunne of the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny
The Newpark Hotel's Aoife Dunne is on cloud nine this week after scooping 'Employee of the Month' for July.
Dunne is a Weddings Supervisor at the decorated Kilkenny hotel.
Newpark Hotel is an award-winning local business, set on over 25 acres of beautiful parkland on the edge of the city.
"Thank you so much for your hard work Aoife, this recognition is well deserved," a spokesperson at the Newpark Hotel commented.
The local hotel was built around the former Newpark House, an elegant 19th-century mansion that was completely renovated in 1908.
For many years, Newpark House was the home of Colonel Scott Dove and his wife, a member of the McCreery family long connected with the commercial life of the city of Kilkenny.
The Colonel was a doctor who had spent most of his life in the army service and had traveled the world. He had a large collection of antiques and exotica. The former dining room of Newpark House is now part of the hotel’s restaurant.
