Former Dicksboro senior manager Mark Dowling shared his views with the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast

Current Kilkenny U20 manager Mark Dowling has told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast he expects James Stephens to secure promotion back to the St Canice's Credit Union SHC in the 'near future' but it may not be on their first attempt.

"I think for the Village it's been a tough year and a difficult year but they did manage to blood a lot of new players who will benefit from those very tough matches," Dowling said.

"They (the young players) dealt very well with the positions they were in and the position the team was in in the second half of the season so I think there's something to build on there immediately.

"They'll be one of the favourites to win the intermediate championship next year, if not the favourite to win it but there's no guarantees, I would expect the Village would come back in the near future," he added.
