Kilkenny manager reflects on bitterly disappointing championship exit

Peter 'Chap' Cleere spoke to the media after Kilkenny bowed out of the All-Ireland Camogie Championship
Kilkenny's run in the Glen Diplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship came to an end at the quarter-final stage for the second year in a row after the Cats fell to Dublin on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-12 in Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.
An opening half goal from Sinead Wylde as well as big displays from the likes of Aishling Maher, and Aishling O'Neill was enough to see the Dubs prevail by four points.
Speaking after the match, a disappointed and noticeably hoarse Peter 'Chap' Cleere had no complaints over the outcome.
"We're devastated inside, we just didn't perform today. Dublin were very, very good and there was nothing we could do about it. Dublin were fantastic today and they deserved their victory," the Kilkenny senior camogie manager said.
"That's our ninth game in ten weeks, I'm not looking for excuses now but look no complaints Dublin deserved their victory today, we're very disappointed," he commented, adding, "the girls gave it everything but it just wasn't to be."
