Kilkenny singer-songwriter takes aim at Guinness World Record

Kilkenny’s Robert Grace attempts to set Guinness World Record with his upcoming album release ‘His Fathers Son’
Kilkenny singer-songwriter Robert Grace is attempting to make history as he sets his sights on setting a Guinness World Record.
The Graignamanagh native explained that when he was younger, he used to get a Guinness World Record book every Christmas.
“I used to be looking through it, wondering what could I do to get myself in this book? I always wanted to be in that book.
“I’m after doing some research and realised that there is no documented case of an album going to #1 or even top ten that features three generations.
“Which means if I could get my new album ‘His Fathers Son’ to #1 or even top ten, we could get a Guinness World Record for me and my family.”
Following this video, Robert Grace subsequently revealed that he has incorporated audio from his grandmother, the late Ellen ‘Nelly’ Grace, into the album.
That means that there are now four generations of the family represented in the album, making it not only an ambitious and creative project, but one very personal to Robert Grace himself.
With over 250 million streams and over half a billion views across his social media platforms, Robert Grace’s double-platinum smash hit 'Fake Fine' and fan-favourite 'Not OK' (60m streams) have cemented his status as a streaming powerhouse.
His recent breakout hit 'Home', which also featured his dad Bob Grace, has racked up 15M+ streams and 400M+ TikTok views and reached the Top 40 of the UK singles sales charts.
Robert releases his second album ‘His Fathers Son’ later this week (November 6) and to celebrate the release he will perform an all-ages show at The Watergate Theatre on Sunday November 8, at 5pm.
‘His Fathers Son’ is a special family inspired album featuring collaborations and appearances from Robert’s father Bob, son Lincoln, wife Corinne, brother Joe and Sister Amie. His mother Bridie and other family members also feature on the album.
