Kilkenny star wins player of the month award

Kilkenny captain Aoife Prendergast has been named the June winner of the PwC GPA Women’s Player of the Month award for camogie.
The Dicksboro star put in a captain’s performance with four points in the opening half as Kilkenny eased to victory over Antrim.
Following two convincing wins, Waterford proved to be a much tougher opponent but once again Prendergast stepped up with the crucial scores, this time to secure a draw.
She scored 2-5 in a 22-point win over Derry to confirm a spot in the knockouts, while a further five points against Tipperary would not be enough to avoid defeat as her team finished second in their group.
The June awards recognise the country’s top performers throughout this year’s final group games and early knock-out stages of the 2024 All-Ireland championships.
The PwC GPA Women’s Player of the Month and PwC GAA/GPA Players of the Month Award winners are voted for by the GPA’s membership.
