Kilkenny student spearheading tomorrow's DCUfm 12-Hour Broadcast for Aware
DCU’s Media Production Society will be running its 14th annual DCUfm 12-Hour Broadcast tomorrow (March 28).
The broadcast comprises a variety of solely student-made content which is broadcasted live from the DCU Campus and is maintained, run and promoted uninterrupted for the duration of the 12 hours.
The aim of the content is to push for as many donations as possible, raising awareness for Aware and destigmatising mental health struggles while also showcasing the skills of the students involved and the brilliant work of the chosen charity.
Caoimhe Woods, a DCUfm station manager from Kilkenny, is calling on local people to tune in on the day to support the broadcast.
For the 2024 Broadcast, The Media Production Society has decided to hold the event in aid of Aware, a national organisation that provides support and care for those affected by depression, bipolar disorder and related mood conditions.
Aware offers a wide range of free support across the country, including support services, programmes and information and informative resources.
They rely on donations and fundraisers to ensure their free services can be accessed to all those who need it across the country.
The DCUfm 12-Hour Broadcast in aid of Aware runs from 9am until 9pm on Thursday, March 28.
