Kilkenny Under 19 boss Matthew Ruth happy with players’ application in Development League

The Cats face Offaly in the semi-finals on Friday evening
It may have been a very early start for the Kilkenny under-19 hurlers on Saturday but they dealt with it well when coming out on top against Wexford.
“It was a really tough game in windy conditions but I was delighted with how the lads dug in and that was nearly the most pleasing aspect of the performance,” said manager Matthew Ruth.
“The game against Dublin was a bit more free-flowing but we always knew it was going to be a difficult assignment away in Wexford and I’m happy with the way the lads responded when put under pressure.”
The victory at the weekend was the third game in succession for the Cats and Ruth is happy with the players progress.
“This grade is a really useful stop gap between minor and under-20 and not have lads out of the loop with some decent games,” he said. “The lads get access to gym work and proper nutrition and you can see that the games are bringing them on a mile.”
