Latest on County Kilkenny water supply after lengthy period of issues

Presently Maryville is supplied by Nanny’s Well with Donaguile and Castlecomer District Hospital getting their water supply from the Kiltown Reservoir.
In the event of low water levels at Kiltown Reservoir Maryville can now supplement part of the Kiltown pipe network and so guarantee a continued supply to Castlecomer District Hospital.
Cllr Shortall says the work carried out by Walsh Civil Engineering Company Castledermot involved the installation of a pipe linking the two mains at Maryville and has commended the prudent works given the critical part the District Hospital plays in the community.
