The Thomastown school’s never-say-die attitude saw them come from behind on three occasions before they beat Cork’s St Peter’s College on penalties after a 10-goal thriller in Cahir Park.
"The boys after having an incredible year. It's a super group of kids we have at the minute," team coach Denis Doyle told the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast.
"Unfortunately, almost that entire first eleven will be leaving us at the end of this year so we'll have to go back to the drawing books and probably start off at the first/second year level and build up a team for a couple of years time.
"I'm not writing off the current fourth and fifth year students either, we'll obviously re-enter the competition again next year but it'll be a tough ask to get back to a final I suppose but you never know," Doyle concluded.
