Man appears in court over assault in County Kilkenny

A man has appeared in court in connection with a violent assault at a residential premises in Callan on Saturday.
An assault took place in a house in the town on Saturday during which a male was violently attacked.
Gardaí and other emergency services attended the scene and one male was taken to St Luke’s Hospital for medical attention.
Another male was arrested and detained at Kilkenny Garda Station where he was questioned in relation to the assault.
The man appeared before Waterford District Court on Sunday in connection with the incident and the matter remains before the courts.
