After more than 50 years in the priesthood, including over two decades serving the Rosbercon Parish community, Kilkenny priest Fr Dan Cavanagh is preparing to retire from active ministry.
Originally from Galmoy, Fr Dan has been a familiar and much-loved figure in parish life.
His contribution was recognised recently at Listerlin National School, where staff and pupils marked his retirement with a special farewell (see all pictures below).
The wider community will have another opportunity to thank Fr Dan for his years of dedication at a retirement celebration on Friday, July 24.
The evening will begin with Mass in Rosbercon Church at 7pm, followed by refreshments in the Parish Hall.
The parish has extended an open invitation to all who wish to attend and celebrate Fr Dan’s long and faithful service.
