Plot twist in plans to change use of cinema building in Kilkenny

Further information has been sought by Kilkenny County Council
Further information is being sought by Kilkenny County Council from Cameo Cinema Limited in relation to plans recently lodged for the old IMC cinema on Gaol Road in Kilkenny City.
The applicant is seeking permission for ‘a change of use of the existing cinema to retail use’.
Also sought are internal and external alterations, new external signage and all associated site works.
As the proposals exceeds 1,000 sq. m of net floorspace the applicant has been asked to submit a retail impact assessment assessing the potential impact of same.
The floorspace also requires the applicant to submit a traffic and transport assessment.
Furthermore, the applicant has been requested to carry out a parking assessment for the proposed development and a waste management plan including the use of a three bins system for the consideration of the planning authority.
The application will be held by Kilkenny County Council in abeyance pending receipt of the requested information from Cameo Cinema Limited.
