RIP: Tribute to Kilkenny woman who left her mark on local community
Eileen worked for many years at Comer International Textile Mills in County Kilkenny
The death occurred recently at St Columba’s Hospital, Thomastown, of Eileen Hennessy, Sidegate, Moneenroe, County Kilkenny.
In her 99th year, her passing marks the end of an era for the Hennessy family at the Sidegate.
Eileen worked for many years at Comer International Textile Mills.
A skilled operator in the Twisting Department she also took on the added responsibility of training instructor, ensuring trainees reached their potential.

Burial was in the Old Cemetery, Moneenroe after Requiem Mass celebrated in the Church of the Sacred Heart by Fr. Tom Corcoran, PP Clogh.
Predeceased by her parents John and Julia, her sisters Maureen and Margaret and brothers Tom and John, Eileen is survived by her cousin Rita Moran, other relatives, neighbours and many friends.
