There has been widespread disgust and anger to a recent post from Carlow Kilkenny Dog Shelter, who shared details of the circumstances around how a group of puppies came into their care recently.
"This litter of six pups has been found by a member of the public in a bag by the river in Goresbridge in Kilkenny, they are crawling in parasites and have big worm burden bellies," the shelter said.
"Please note they are not for adoption. Rescue help only please."
The shelter have since confirmed that rescue help for these puppies has been 'sorted'.
This story comes just days after gardaí in Kilkenny discovered puppies left out in the freezing cold.
