Upcoming free entry to certain people at Smithwick's Experience in Kilkenny - see details!

One of Ireland’s top visitor attractions is marking St. Patrick’s Day by offering free entry to its customer experience across five days to individuals named Patrick, Patricia or any variation of the name.
The free entry offer at Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny on the 300 year-old brewery site runs from this Thursday, March 14th through until Monday, 18th inclusive.
The multi-sensory experience on the former brewery site in the heart of medieval Kilkenny City immerses visitors in the history of Ireland's oldest and most popular ale.
Manager of Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny, Ignacio Peregrina, said it’s all part of the festivities at the Kilkenny City centre landmark and celebrates the official beginning of the traditional tourist season.
"We’re delighted to offer free entry to those with a Patrick-related name, for example Patrick, Paddy, Padraig, Pat, Patricia, and any other derivative," they said.
"If you’ve one of the lucky ones to be named after our patron saint, you’re in!
"We’ll also accept surnames which derive from a form of Patrick including Patrick, Fitzpatrick, Mulpatrick, etc. We’re also rolling out the green carpet and including our international visitors with names which are also common international derivatives of Patrick, among them Patricio (Spanish), Patrizio (Italian), and Patryk (Polish)."
The offer is valid only for walk-up visits only, not for those on pre-booked tours, and is subject to capacity availability.
As it’s a tour of a former brewery site, the offer is open to over 18s only. Those who believe they qualify must show valid photo identification.
The free promotion offer comes as the Barrel Yard at the former brewery site opens for another season.
A series of live music sessions and cultural events are planned throughout the season ahead at the enclosed, open air venue in the shadow of St Francis Abbey and other city centre landmarks.
