'Very smoky and noisy exhaust' drew garda attention to unaccompanied learner driver in Kilkenny

Gardaí on patrol in Kilkenny yesterday (Saturday) evening had their attention drawn to a vehicle with 'a very smoky and noisy exhaust'.

They stopped the vehicle, and also discovered 'very poor tyres'.

To make matters even more concerning, the driver was an unaccompanied learner driver.

The vehicle was subsequently seized.

In a separate incident yesterday evening, a driver failed a drug test after being stopped in Kilkenny due to a child standing on the back seat.
