"I’ve been in county dressing rooms for over 20 years and I can say, hand on heart, I’ve never been prouder of a group," Boyne posted to social media.
"Yesterday’s result hurts. But what this team gave, every day, every session, every match, was everything. They stood for each other. They stood for Kilkenny. They stood for something bigger than themselves.
"No shortcuts. No excuses. Just hard work, belief, and brotherhood," he continued.
"They stood together, shoulder to shoulder, and lived the values that matter most: resilience, humility, and looking after each other.
"To the players, the families, the coaches, and the wider Kilkenny support. Thank you," the Dublin native remarked.
"What makes this group truly special is something you don’t see in match reports or scorelines — it’s the bond between the County Board officials, the players, the coaches, and management. It’s more than a working relationship. It’s family.
"What an incredible journey. What an incredible honour," he concluded.
