Call for action on main street in Waterford village amid ‘accident waiting to happen’

Mayor of Waterford Liam Brazil raised the issue at the June meeting of the Comeragh Municipal District
The Mayor of Waterford City and County has called for action on the main street in a local village amid an “accident waiting to happen”.
Fine Gael councillor Liam Brazil raised the issue at the June meeting of the Comeragh Municipal District.
Mayor Brazil said: “High Street in Stradbally - there’s an issue there with traffic coming down from the GAA field there.
“I know there’s a junction there in the Square but traffic doesn’t seem to stop there.
“ Is there anything we can do to slow traffic down coming from that side of the bridge there? I think it’s an accident waiting to happen.
“If we could do something, it could be great. I know we’ve looked at it before and we didn’t seem to make any good of it but I think if we could look at it again, that would be important.”
In response, Roger Noonan, Senior Executive Engineer at Waterford City and County Council, said that he would take a look at the street and revert back to Mayor Brazil.
