A local councillor has expressed his outrage at the vandalism of a public toilets facility in County Waterford.
Sinn Féin councillor Donnchadh Mulcahy took to social media to denounce the behaviour which had occurred at a facility in Lismore.
In a post on Facebook, Cllr Mulcahy stated: “Very disappointing to see anti-social behaviour at the public toilets in Lismore yesterday, with two of the new toilets broken to pieces not long after being replaced.
“Since elected, I’ve been consistently calling for upgrades to these facilities, and while the works are nearly complete, it’s extremely disheartening to see this happen.
“These are public facilities for the people of Lismore and for visitors to the town, and a lot of time, effort and public money has gone into improving them.”

“Lismore is a town people are proud of, and the vast majority take great care in how it’s presented.
“Facilities like this are there for everyone, and it’s important we all play our part in looking after them.
“If you have any information, please contact the Gardaí. We cannot allow this sort of behaviour to become the norm in our community.”
