There is a large build up of machinery at Waterford Airport as work on the airport’s redevelopment begins.
A compound has been established to the south west of the airport terminal, at the rear of the Airport Business Park.
Inside the compound, a line of tractors and other heavy machinery has been assembled.
There are also a number of vans, some of which have UK registrations.
The extent of the works that have been carried out so far is unclear.
However, a digger has been observed operating in a field just to the left of the compound entrance. The top soil of the field has been removed.
Meanwhile, a number of heavy machines, including tractors and diggers, have been observed traversing the runway itself.

Elsewhere, to the north east of the airport terminal and car park, there is a large build-up of clay and a number of heavy machines.
It is understood that this relates to ground levelling work needed to facilitate the airport’s redevelopment.
Earlier this month, ground investigation specialists were observed undertaking work at the airport.
It came just two weeks after an official sod-turning ceremony took place to mark the beginning of the airport's €30m redevelopment.
