A new 98-unit development is set to be constructed in Waterford city

Planning permission has been granted for more new homes in a growing suburb of Waterford city.

Vetra Construction Ltd has been granted permission for a further 98-unit development in Kilbarry.

The development will consist of 20 four-bedroom houses, 46 three-bedroom houses and a four storey apartment block.

This apartment block will contain a total of 32 apartments, including eight one-bedroom units and 24 two-bedroom units.

Works will also be undertaken on landscaping, public open space and boundary treatments.

Vehicle and pedestrian access will be directly onto the existing public road, with a pedestrian link through to the adjoining Foxwood residential development.

Works on public lighting, drainage, provision of foul and surface water connections will also be carried out.

The application was submitted by Vetra Construction Ltd on December 4, 2025.

Waterford City and County Council granted permission for the development on July 27, with 23 conditions attached.

It comes after Vetra Construction Ltd was granted permission for a further 99 housing units in the same area back in June.
