There was excitement at Waterford Airport ahead of the bank holiday weekend as a World War II plane landed to refuel.

The DC-3 plane - which is owned by a history group from Switzerland - travelled down from Cork before stopping in Waterford.

The plane is a propeller-driven airliner manufactured by the Douglas Aircraft Company, which had a lasting effect on the airline industry in the 1930s to 1940s and World War II.
