Waterford Airport investor Kelcy Warren buys historic church in Scottish village

The US billionaire is widely understood to be behind Waterford Airport’s €30m redevelopment
Waterford Airport investor Kelcy Warren has bought a church in a Scottish village, according to reports in the UK.
The Press and Journal is reporting that Mr Warren has completed the purchase of Dunbeath Church from the Church of Scotland.
The building, which was constructed in 1901, reportedly had an asking price of £75,000. The land surrounding the property was included in the sale.
A spokesperson for the Church of Scotland confirmed that the sale was settled in November.
The P&J is also reporting that the US billionaire plans to convert the historic church into a restaurant.
The purchase follows Mr Warren’s reported acquisition of the nearby Dunbeath Castle and Estate in May 2024.
In 2019, Mr Warren purchased the Castletown Cox House and Estate in County Kilkenny.
In January, he was granted planning permission to build a private distillery on the grounds of the estate.
The US billionaire is widely understood to be the anonymous private investor behind Waterford Airport’s €30m redevelopment.
Mr Warren, who hails from Texas, is the single largest shareholder in the US firm Energy Transfer and has an estimated net worth of €6 billion.
